Holy Cross Church -- Drohobych

Wooden Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Drohobych, Pidkarpattia, built before 1636 with three four-cornered pyramid-like apexes. The interior is decorated with paintings of that period. From this same period another unique masterpiece of wooden architecture is located in Drohobych -- the 5-domed church of St. George. "The Church of St. George and its bell tower -- this is real poetry in wood, hewn with an axe, not unlike a gigantic sculptural work". (Hr. Lohvyn -- "Through Ukraine". 263).
